RE: MODULE 5: 21st Century Information Technologies Final Memo

This is a final memo for the 21st Century Information Technologies Module

Message

The objective of this module’s output was to share the pros and cons of digital technologies in the classroom from the perspective of a Digital Native and child of retired educators. With feedback from my peers, I decided to also share how previous generations had different learning styles compared to Digital Natives.

Target Audience

The target audience for this project were students and instructors of the IDT 507 Information Technologies course, those interested in new technology, Digital Navies (Millenials & Generation Z), and beyond

Platform

I continued to use the WordPress blogging platform as a base for this project and instead of a traditional blog post, I recorded, edited, and embedded a (private) YouTube video with the Adobe Premiere Rush desktop editing software.

Design Considerations

As mentioned, my initial project proposal had a written blog post as a design output. I wanted to play around in video editing, specifically with Adobe Premiere products so I decided to record and edit a video.

Design Challenges

Prior to this project, I haven’t used this specific video editing software and it was really easy to use.  In comparison to iMovie and Windows Media Maker, Adobe Premiere Pro had a similar editing flow with some extra additions. I was also able to share my files between devices (windows laptop, phone, and Macbook Pro) via the Creative Cloud with no issues.
